“Spirit Spa” Spiritual Retreat,
Our first celebration of WICC’s 100th Anniversary took place over a weekend in Lewisporte, Newfoundland. Lorraine Elliott shared her takeaways from the “Spirit Spa” organized by our council member, Rev. Stephanie McClellan.
For all who attended this fantastic weekend, I thank you. You were a blessing. Sorry, I don’t have most of the addresses but you can pass the word on.
For those who missed it, you missed a wonderful event, filled with wonderful music, much fun and laughter, many ah-ha moments when you felt the spirit moving. The speakers were fantastic, Sid was amazing at being able to find just the right pieces at the right time. It left us with so much to think about: justice issues and how we might make a difference; the drummer from the native community telling his story; the many spiritual practices; the communion time, and of course the food. This morning’s worship service with the children and the “Spirit Spa” choir topped it off.
It was such an inspiring weekend, leaving me filled with thanksgiving and the motivation to get out there and do something to make a difference and to encourage others. As Edgar Edward Hale said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” A special thanks to Rev. Steph for all the planning and work required to make this such a success.
Thanks and many blessings,
