This project incorporated many land-based learning strategies: Three Sisters’ plantings using the Four Directions method, Cree language words and phrases on the gardens’ signs, planting traditional tobacco, incorporating fresh produce into meals, preserving garden produce, growing a healing garden, and honouring residential school survivors through a Heart Garden.

Staff were given learning opportunities (e.g., on traditional berries and sweet grass). Local and regional guests spoke on a variety of topics and provided hands-on learning. The garden also supplied food to project participants as well as nine charities in the area.
