Proverbs 31:17 … she dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. (English Standard Version)
Did you face a challenge today? Were your spiritual talents called to action? Regular physical activity and healthy eating make a powerful combination in giving us the energy to take on all sorts of challenges including social injustice. Furthermore, a prayerful activity/eating merge can help keep chronic ailments such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis and many types of cancers at bay. And let’s not forget about MEMORY. The Mayo Clinic suggests that physical activity seems to help the brain by keeping the blood flowing AND increasing protective chemicals.
The positive activity effect can be multiplied by adding prayer and scripture. Paul’s list of the armour of God in Ephesians 6 may suggest ways to concentrate on different muscles and sets of exercises. Or structure your prayers according to Deuteronomy 6:5: “love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength”.
If you are ready to see some amazing changes in your life, aim to purposefully move about for at least 2.5 hours/week! If you are new to physical activity, no worries! First, you should definitely speak to your healthcare professional about any possible issues, and then start slowly and be proud of your progress…you got this!
