Women’s Inter-Church Council of Toronto

About Us:

The members of the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Toronto (WICT) shall be women who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and who are interested in ecumenical activity.

All members are an integral part of WICT, are eligible for any office on the Executive Board, and have the right to participate in all WICT activities.

We:

  1. Promote and stimulate ecumenical experience and dialogue through fellowship and service
  2. Encourage individual and collective spiritual development through prayer and study
  3. Foster social justice, equality, peace, and harmony
  4. Serve as a vehicle for communication and fellowship among Christian women in the city of Toronto.

Mission Statement:

The Women’s Inter-Church Council of Toronto is a Christian’s women’s council that encourages women to grow in ecumenism, to share their spirituality and prayer and to engage in dialogue about women’s concerns. The council calls women, men, and youth to respond to issues affecting women and to take action for justice.

Our Impact:

As we emerge from the restrictive impact of COVID, a decision was made to focus on generating and promoting World Day of Prayer services for 2023. Toronto has a population of almost three million citizens, and so the opportunity to gather with others throughout the city for World Day of Prayer in March is great.

Prayer Corner:

“In the silence of the heart God speaks. If you face God in prayer and silence, God will speak to you. Then you will know that you are nothing. It is only when you realize your nothingness, your emptiness, that God can fill you with Himself. Souls of prayer are souls of great silence.”

Mother Teresa
