My WICC Board Story – by Cathy Reid

I live in London, Ontario, and my link with World Day of Prayer started when I lived in Scotland.  Throughout this time, I loved the connections made through meeting and praying together on a theme set by a host country.

Joining with women on the same day all over the world made me realize how powerful prayer is when “two or three are gathered together”.  Through the grants given from WDP offerings, many groups are enabled to help women suffering from injustice.

I represent the Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and serve the WICC Board as Secretary.  The Board has an amazing group of women from many denominations who share a common interest in promoting justice for all women and children.  I see my roles as abiding by Christ’s command to “Follow me!”, and answering the call to share the gifts God has given me.

I promote WICC at every opportunity.  It is encouraging that we are generating more interest, especially for WDP in the north of London.
